President's Message
I hope this letter finds everyone in high spirits at the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA). I know I am! A lot of change has taken place this past year, so it is with great honor and enthusiasm that I address you as your new president.
First and foremost, I would like to express my deepest appreciation to Immediate Past President Leachmoore, the board of directors, and all the volunteers for their dedication and hard work in steering the organization to where it stands today. Their contributions have laid a strong
foundation upon which we will continue to build and grow.
As I step into this role, I am filled with gratitude for the trust you have placed in me to help lead the NAEA forward. A forward path members voted upon in the December 2023 bylaws election.
As we embark on this new model of chapter/affiliates together, I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for us as a community of professional colleagues and friends. Our organization has always been characterized by its commitment to excellence, innovation, and
collaboration. We are and will continue to be “bigger and better together!” Therefore, this journey must include growth in membership. A growth that not only includes more members, but members who wish to be more engaged. Members who find fulfillment in belonging to our community. This will be one of my priorities for the NAEA.
It is important that the NAEA fosters a culture of community and diversity within our organization. New and younger members need to feel that sense of welcomeness when they join the NAEA. They offer fresh perspectives and should feel free to express them. Likewise, we should not dismiss the needs and insights of our legacy members. The knowledge and experiences they have provided have also helped drive us to this new path. Embracing a wide range of perspectives and experiences not only enriches our professional community but also strengthens our ability to tackle challenges.
I also recognize the importance of advocacy in our organization. Our credential gives us unlimited rights to practice with opportunities to represent taxpayers in need of representation. Advocacy is what separates the NAEA from other professional organizations and what separates enrolled agents from non-licensed preparers. The NAEA has proven that it will be there to fight the fight for us as enrolled agents!
I look forward to engaging with each of you, listening to your ideas and feedback, and working together to shape the future direction of our organization. I am eager to work with you to ensure that we continue to meet the needs and expectations of our members and organization.
Together, I am confident that we will build upon our past successes and achieve even greater heights in the years to come so that we will be “bigger and better together.”
Thank you for the privilege of serving as your president.
