President's Message
As I step into my role as president of the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA), I am both honored and energized by the opportunity to serve a community defined by expertise, integrity, and commitment to taxpayers. This year, my central focus will be strengthening collaboration among our members, our state affiliates and chapters, and our vital partners within the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and state taxing authorities.
Our profession is shaped by legislative changes, technological advancements, and increasing complexity in tax administration. In this environment, collaboration is essential. By working together
more effectively, we can amplify our collective voice, improve professional standards, and better serve the public.
We currently offer many networking opportunities, including virtual roundtables, web boards, and live events such as the NAEA Tax Summit. I have benefitted immensely from meeting colleagues
at events and developing relationships with people I can call on with questions when faced with a difficult or novel tax situation.
Our affiliates and chapters are the backbone of the NAEA, and this year we will continue to support their success. We will continue the quarterly Affiliates Share Shop virtual meetings, which allow affiliate leaders to discuss issues, concerns, and solutions with one another. Together, we will be stronger.
Equally important is our relationship with the IRS and state taxing authorities. Constructive engagement with these entities benefits not only our members but also the taxpayers we serve. We will continue to prioritize regular dialogue, ensuring that the voice of enrolled agents is heard on key issues such as minimum preparer standards, administrative procedures, enforcement policies, and taxpayer rights. We will also work to expand joint educational programs, giving members direct access to updates and guidance from government representatives.
Transparency and communication will underpin all of these efforts. Through regular updates on our initiatives, outcomes, and opportunities for involvement, we can ensure that every member feels informed and empowered to participate. Collaboration thrives when individuals feel connected to a shared purpose, and it is my goal to cultivate that sense of unity across our organization.
Finally, let’s celebrate the achievements of our members and affiliates. By highlighting success stories like innovative programs, impactful advocacy efforts, or outstanding professional contributions, we reinforce the value of working together and inspire others to engage.
The year ahead holds tremendous promise. By strengthening collaboration at every level, we will position the NAEA for continued growth and relevance. Together, we will build a connected, informed, and effective community of enrolled agents, dedicated to excellence in service and advocacy.
